Patchouli has a wonderful musky sweet aroma and has historically been used to perfume the beds and fine linens of the wealthy. It is a very aromatic essential oil which comes from the mint family of the genus Pogostemon. It is native to the Asian tropics where it was also used as an aid to tighten the skin and treat scarring.
